Arrival at Haneda or Narita Airport

Upon arrival, meet your English-speaking guide in the arrivals hall and transfer to your hotel by private coach. The transfer takes approximately 60 minutes from Haneda Airport or 90 minutes from Narita Airport.

Arrive at the hotel and check in. Have the rest of the day to rest the flight!

Day Two

Wednesday 12 May 2027: Tokyo

Breakfast at the hotel.

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and depart by private coach to visit Meiji Shrine.

Meiji Shrine is dedicated to the deified spirit of Emperor Meiji and is a popular place for traditional Japanese weddings.

Afterward, your private coach will take you to Shibuya, Tokyo’s main center for youth fashion and culture, where many of Japan’s fashion and entertainment trends originate. Here you will see the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing, one of the busiest pedestrian intersections in the world.

Just outside Shibuya Station, you will also visit the beloved Hachikō Statue, a symbol of loyalty dedicated to the faithful Akita dog who waited for his owner every day for nearly 10 years.

Free time for lunch.

After visiting Shibuya, your private coach will take you back to the hotel.

Day Three 

Thursday 13 May 2027: Tokyo

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and depart by private coach to visit Tokyo Skytree.

Tokyo Skytree is a television broadcasting tower and a landmark of Tokyo. With a height of 634 meters (634 can be read as “Musashi,” a historic name of the Tokyo region), it is the tallest building in Japan and was the second-tallest structure in the world at the time of its completion. A large shopping complex is located at its base. Enjoy spectacular views of Tokyo from the observation deck, the highest of its kind in Japan and one of the highest in the world.

Afterward, a private coach will take you to Asakusa, Tokyo’s old town, where you can experience the atmosphere of what Tokyo was like hundreds of years ago. Visit Sensoji Temple, also known as Asakusa Kannon, Tokyo’s oldest temple.

The street leading up to the temple is called Nakamise, a lively shopping street that has been providing temple visitors with traditional snacks and souvenirs for centuries.

After visiting Asakusa, a private coach will take you to lunch.

Day Four 

Friday 14 May 2027: Tokyo

TeamLab Borderless is also affectionately referred to as the “Instagram Museum.” Inside, projection mapping blends with human interaction to create an immersive world of digital art and illusions that challenge the traditional concept of what art can be.

Afterward, a private coach will take you to Tsukiji Outer Market, formerly part of the world’s largest fish market. Before part of the market moved to Toyosu, it handled about 2,888 tons of marine products per day worth approximately 2.8 billion yen (around US$20 million).

Around 450 varieties of seafood were traded here, ranging from inexpensive sardines to rare delicacies such as dried sea slug caviar. Some giant tuna have sold for well over 1,000,000 JPY (about US$8,000).

You will stroll through Tsukiji Outer Market, exploring its lively stalls selling seafood, vegetables, fruits, and local specialties. While the inner wholesale market moved to Toyosu, the outer market remains open and continues to offer a vibrant glimpse into Tokyo’s food culture.

After lunch, a private coach will take you to Fushimi Inari Shrine.

Fushimi Inari Shrine is famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates that form a network of trails up the mountain behind the shrine. It is the most important of the many shrines dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. Foxes are believed to be Inari’s messengers, which is why many fox statues can be seen throughout the shrine grounds.

The shrine predates Kyoto becoming the capital in 794 and its iconic torii gate pathways have appeared in numerous films and photographs over the years.

After visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine, a private coach will take you to your hotel.

Your first stop in Arashiyama is Tenryuji Temple. Ranked among Kyoto’s five great Zen temples, Tenryuji is the largest and most impressive temple in Arashiyama. Founded in 1339 at the start of the Muromachi Period, the temple is now considered an important cultural property and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to its temple buildings, it features beautiful gardens with walking paths.

On the way to Nonomiya Shrine, your path will lead you through Arashiyama’s famous bamboo groves, which are unlike any other place in Japan. For centuries, the bamboo from this forest has been used to create various products such as baskets, cups, boxes, and mats in local workshops.

Nonomiya Shrine is a Shinto shrine where, in ancient times, unmarried imperial princesses stayed for a year or more to purify themselves. The shrine is referenced in numerous works of literature, most notably in the world’s first novel, The Tale of Genji.

Afterward, a private coach will take you for lunch.

Finally, visit Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), originally built as a retirement villa for the shogun. After his death, it became a Buddhist temple at his request and is now one of Kyoto’s most famous landmarks.

Nijo Castle was built by the founder of the Edo Shogunate as his Kyoto residence and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The main building was completed in 1603 and is famous for its architecture, richly decorated sliding doors, and its unique “nightingale floors,” which chirp when walked upon as a security measure.

After visiting Nijo Castle, a private coach will take you to Nishiki Market.

Nishiki Market is a narrow, five-block-long shopping street lined with more than one hundred shops and restaurants. Known as “Kyoto’s Kitchen,” this lively market specializes in food-related products such as fresh seafood, produce, knives, and cookware. It is also a great place to find seasonal foods and Kyoto specialties, including Japanese sweets, pickles, dried seafood, and sushi.

Free time for lunch around the market area.

Enjoy a special dinner with drinks accompanied by private maiko or geiko entertainment. The performance includes conversation and traditional dancing accompanied by the shamisen (a Japanese stringed instrument). Meet your guide in the hotel lobby and depart by private coach to the town of Nara.

During the eighth century, Nara served as Japan’s capital for 74 years, and many of the temples and shrines built during that time still stand today.

Visit Todaiji Temple, one of the world’s largest wooden structures and home to Japan’s largest Buddha statue. The park surrounding the temple is called Nara Park, though it is often referred to as “Deer Park” due to the large population of more than one thousand tame deer that roam freely. The deer are known to bow their heads in exchange for treats.

Next, visit Kasuga Taisha, Nara’s most celebrated shrine. Established in 768 AD, the shrine is dedicated to the deity responsible for protecting the city. It is famous for its hundreds of bronze and stone lanterns that have been donated by worshippers over the centuries.

Osaka Castle was the largest castle in Japan when it was first built in 1583. This impressive landmark is surrounded by massive stone walls and wide moats and sits within Osaka Castle Park, which covers an area of about two square kilometers.

After the visit, a private coach will take you to Kuromon Market.

Kuromon Market is a covered public market stretching approximately 600 meters and home to about 150 shops, many of which specialize in fresh fish and meat. Visitors can sample a variety of local specialties such as grilled seafood including crab legs and oysters, yakitori, sea urchin, sushi, eel, seasonal fruits, and the famous street food takoyaki.

You will then continue to Dotonbori, one of Osaka’s most popular shopping and entertainment districts and a renowned food destination. At night, the area lights up with hundreds of neon signs and mechanical displays, including the famous Glico Running Man and Kani Doraku crab sign.

Osaka’s love of food is often summed up by the expression “kuidaore,” commonly interpreted as “eat until you drop.” Dotonbori is considered one of the best places in the city to experience this vibrant food culture.

After visiting Dotonbori, a private coach will take you back to your hotel.
